Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • The first step to establishing care is scheduling a no cost 15-minute phone consult. These calls allow you and the therapist to get a better idea if working together will be helpful. During the consultation with your perspective therapist, you can expect a supportive and confidential environment where you can share the broad reasons you’re seeking therapy and ask questions. The therapist will typically begin by asking about your reasons for seeking therapy, your mental health history, and any specific issues you would like to address. You never have to share anything you are not ready to share yet.

This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapist's approach and background. The therapist can explain how the therapeutic process works, including the methods they employ and how sessions are structured. At the end of the consultation, you should have a clearer understanding of what working together might look like and whether this therapist is a good fit for you. If you mutually decide to move forward, intake scheduling and next steps will be discussed. But there is never any pressure to schedule.

During intake, the therapist will review this information with you to better understand of you as a whole person.
