Does it feel like everyone else's brain just works differently from yours? Like they got a manual for life and relationships that you're missing? Anxiety, depression, frustration, and disconnection from self and others can creep in when we feel different without an explanation. While there isn't a manual for life or interpersonal connections, learning about the unique ways your brain operates can improve your quality of life and relationships. Together we can explore your individual experience and struggles, without making your brain the enemy. You are not broken and you do not need fixing!
I specialize in working with people that often feel outside the "norm". Clients come to me looking for a therapist who is open-minded, non-judgmental, and empathetic. Neurodivergent clients find my approach to be direct, compassionate, and affirming. This often overlaps with LGBTQIA+ and ENM/polyamorous communities, where I work with individuals, couples, polycules, and non-traditional relationships to improve communication, intimacy, and connection. As a veteran, I also have a passion for working with military members, veterans, and their families. Whether you are facing problems as an individual, working through issues together with your partner(s), or just exploring who you are who you want to be, I want to offer an inclusive and empathetic space for us to tackle together whatever challenges come your way.
My therapeutic style focuses on using Rogerian, person-centered approaches to help you understand yourself and others. Using a blend of evidence-based tools, I personally tailor therapy to you. I strive to ensure that our time together is spent doing work that is useful and compassionate. I hold a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and have received extensive training in several evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I am currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Registered Intern in Florida. I offer in-person therapy session in Jacksonville, FL and virtual therapy from anywhere in Florida. I invite you to schedule a free 15 minute phone consult to see how we can work together.
